Interesting Background Information?
I entered the insurance world on May 7, 1974 at Allstate Ins. Co in Farmington, CT. I was an underwriting examiner for 3 years. In 1977, I moved to Denver, Colorado and was rehired as an agency services CSR. I was promoted to Senior CSR and then made Senior Trainer for CSR’s and new agents training on Microfish. I was awarded the Good Hands Award by the agents in the five state region. In 1984 I returned to CT and raised my children for 5 years. In 1989 I started my data processing career at the Peter M Bakker Agency on a Redshaw system that required complete manual input. When we moved to Applied in 1993, I became involved with the download of data and input of direct bill commissions.
I was Ascnet of CT Chapter President for 8 years and attended most of the annual conferences around the US. It was a great pleasure to hold this position and meet other Applied users each year. I have been a Tenconn (now Applied Client Network Conference) volunteer and am also a member of the Download Committee associated with Industry Solutions for Applied.
On weekends, you can find me…
Talking walks and playing cards and games with friends. I also love to cook, listen to country music and watch TV and movies.
Where have you traveled?
I have traveled to most of the US and parts of Canada. My son attended McGill University in Montreal and several field trips were necessary! He also moved to Hawaii for a year and that trip was really necessary. Today he lives in Austin, TX and his sister lives in Burke, VA so traveling is something my husband and I do as much as possible.
Tell us about your family…
I have been married to Renaud Gilbert for 42 years with 2 wonderful grown children. Danielle has a cool government job in the DC area (although we are not quite sure what she does!). Mark is an urban planner in Austin, TX.
